Across many rural Sub- Saharan African communities, children who lose their parents often face an uncertain future. Without support, many of them miss out on education and basic necessities.
Recently, Glynviah Roots Foundation (GRF)met a young orphan being raised by his grandmother in the village of Bungoma county. Despite her age and limited resources, she has taken in not only her grandson but also other vulnerable children from the community who have nowhere else to go.
Providing for several children has become incredibly difficult. Access to regular meals and education has been a major challenge for the family.
GRF has made the first step by providing food support to ensure the children have regular meals and some stability in their lives.
But food is only the first step.
Education is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty. This young boy dreams of going to school and building a better future, but his grandmother cannot afford school fees, uniforms, books, and other supplies.
That is why we are planning to enrol him in school in the next academic term.
At the heart of our work is the belief that communities become stronger when people support one another. Our motto, “Growing With Others,” reflects our mission to help vulnerable children grow through education, care, and opportunity.
With the help of generous supporters, we hope to raise the funds needed to cover his educational expenses and give him the opportunity every child deserves, the chance to learn!
If you would like to support our mission and help send this child to school, please consider making a donation or getting involved with our work.
Together, we can grow stronger by Growing With Others.
He will be turning 8years and starting school in 2027 ☺️
