Glynviah Roots Foundation was born from a powerful, shared dream between two women, Gwyneth and Poulyviah. Though from different countries, their paths converged during a volunteering trip to Kenya in April 2023. They both grew up as village girls, understanding first hand the challenges of limited education and poverty, yet also witnessing the incredible strength and resilience within rural communities. This shared background ignited a passion to create opportunities for children to learn, families to thrive, and communities to become self-reliant. Our partnership is strengthened by a unique blend of local knowledge and international support. Poulyviah, living in Kenya, works directly within the community, ensuring projects are implemented effectively, building trust, and maintaining accountability. Gwyneth brings international perspective, networks, and experience, with a long-term vision to expand our community-led model beyond Kenya. Our big dream is to establish secure, sustainable centres of education and empowerment, starting in Bungoma County and eventually reaching Gwyneth’s own village community in Zimbabwe. We are about staying connected to our roots and believing in the potential of village communities.
